Senior Software Engineer

The company is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join its Engineering team as it scales its platform across UK and US markets, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering. The role is hands-on across a mix of PHP (Symfony/Laravel) applications running on AWS (EC2 and EKS), contributing to multiple concurrent projects while helping raise the bar on engineering practices across the team. The engineer is expected to take the initiative on ambiguous or unowned problems with little to no guidance, move fluidly between workstreams, own technical decisions and help set technical direction. Mentoring less experienced engineers and championing best practices such as code review standards, testing, CI/CD and documentation are central to the role. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of two days per week in the Cramlington office.
