Software Development Engineer II - Conversations

The company is hiring a backend-focused Software Development Engineer II to join the Conversations organization, specifically the Threads & Composer team, which owns the inbox and composer surfaces and the backend services that deliver and store those interactions. The role involves building and shipping features in Node.js and Go microservices on real production paths, working with SQL and NoSQL data stores, queues, caches and rate limiters, and shipping Vue 3 UIs that consume the engineer's own APIs. The engineer will own well-scoped services end to end, write design docs, and join the on-call rotation with backup from senior engineers. The position exists to help scale multi-channel communication across SMS, Email, WhatsApp and DMs, handling billions of messages monthly.
