The USU Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a motivated and team-oriented mid-level software engineer to develop database‐backed web applications to facilitate and implement business processes with a DevOps perspective.

Primary responsibilities include:

· Write clean, consistent and well‐documented code

· Design, implement, test, and maintain web applications using a variety of web technologies and libraries

· Design relational data models

· Provide operational support for existing systems

· Collaborate in an Agile/Scrum development environment

· Create reports to support business needs

· Provide operational support for existing systems

· Investigate new development tools and technologies

Additional responsibilities may include:

· Design and implement procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance

· Assist with the configuration management of the system

· Write scripts as well as compile, install, and configure components in a Linux environment

· Build tools to improve developer processes and reduce occurrences of errors

· Investigate and resolve technical issues

Qualifications:

· BS in software engineering, information technology, computer science, or related field

· A minimum of 3 years of web application development experience

· Outstanding skills in two or more of the following:

· Front-end web development

· Application design and development

· Back-end development

· Relational databases

· Linux systems administration

· Software quality assurance

· Superior analytical and problem-solving abilities

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Self‐motivated and customer-service oriented

· Ability to establish and maintain effective team relationships

· Must have or be able to obtain a DoD security clearance

· Must be a US citizen
