BYBORRE Create™ is adding to our team of people who are revolutionising the world of textile design on the web. We've built a textile design platform changing the way people design and interact with textiles in the digital realm.
Working within a cross-functional and multi-disciplinary integrated Digital Product Team together with our Digital Product Lead and Digital Product Engineer, you’ll have the opportunity to bridge a unique digital experience with the physical world of textiles.
Our team is in search of a mid-level Digital Product Engineer to help us change the way our customers design textiles.
Our WYSIWYG textile editor is built using Vue.js and runs atop AWS infrastructure. You will be working with the latest tools and technology, pushing the boundaries of what is possible within the browser.
You will work in a highly collaborative team, where everyone has the opportunity to take ownership over their work and the direction of the product.
About the team
- Be part of a dynamic, international team (35+ people) in Amsterdam.
- Mix of experts in different fields (knit engineers, atelier specialists, yarn specialists, Chief Pocket Officer, knit designers, in-house digital team and more)
- You will be a part of our Digital Product Team, within the Impact & Innovation Department.
What you'll be doing
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for:
- Building highly interactive features that prioritise performance
- Building high-quality UI using and integrating on a component based design system
- Taking shared ownership over the product
- Communicating and documenting architectural changes and decisions
- Collaborating closely with other engineers and designers
- Communicating technical decisions to stakeholders and other team members
- Participating in testing for quality assurance and code reviews
- Providing thoughtful feedback for others on the team
- Helping recruit & interview future team members as we scale
Skills & experience
What we're looking for in the ideal candidate. Not all of these are must haves, so please take the leap to get in touch even if you don't feel you meet all criteria:
- 3+ years of experience developing full-stack digital products
- Demonstrated fluency with JavaScript, and at least one SPA framework such as React, Vue.js, etc.
- Deep knowledge of HTML5 Canvas and it's capabilities
- Experience or interest in creative coding and generative design
- Proactive communication and comfortable working within a collaborative team setting
- Motivated to understand the business, our customers, their requirements, and to deliver results
- A growth mindset and the desire to learn and grow as an engineer
- Driven by impact and cares about the quality of software you build
- An interest in finding solutions to complex challenges
- An eye for design and detail across a digital experience
- You are pro-active, boundlessly creative and relentlessly attentive to detail.
- Proficiency in verbal and written English
