nCino offers exciting career opportunities for individuals who want to join the worldwide leader in cloud banking.
nCino's Automated Underwriting System team builds and maintains the integrations between Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that allow financial institutions to accurately assess loan risk and prepare files for the secondary market. As Associate Manager, you will lead a backend-heavy engineering team through integration work that is technical and precise by nature, while contributing hands-on as a senior-level engineer yourself. The team works primarily in Ruby on Rails on the backend and Vue.js on the frontend, with feature development that includes AI-powered Smart Tasks converting underwriting feedback into actionable workflow items within the application. You will collaborate cross-functionally with various teams within the organization, such as Cloud and Data/AI platform as the product continues expanding its intelligent capabilities.
The ideal candidate splits their identity evenly between people leader and engineer, spending roughly half their time managing the team and half writing code as a senior contributor. You lead with genuine investment in your team's growth, creating opportunities for others and delivering feedback that is constructive, direct, and timely even when the message is difficult. Experience in high-deployment, fast-iteration engineering environments is a meaningful plus, and candidates with strong CI/CD fluency and a background in integration-focused backend work will have a clear advantage from day one.Essential Functions:
