The world doesn’t need a few giant media companies deciding which stories get told. It needs millions of voices who bring weird, wonderful stories to life online.
We’re working to help every creator earn a living.
Modash helps brands discover, partner with, and pay those creators.
In practice, that means helping brands find the right creators, understand their audiences, evaluate fit, and manage campaigns across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube without drowning in spreadsheets, guesswork, and manual work.
We are looking for a Senior Product Engineer to help us take that product further. We already have a strong team of around 20 engineers across four product teams, and we’re continuing to grow as we take on more ambitious problems.
What you’ll actually do
As a Senior Product Engineer at Modash, you’ll work closely with product and engineers to turn messy customer problems into simple, useful product experiences.
Depending on the team, you might work on:
- Discovery: creator search that makes the product value obvious in the first session.
- CRM: relationship management and outreach tools that make teams forget about existence of Google Sheets.
- Campaigns: performance aggregation across millions of pieces of creator content, helping customers see what worked and what to do next.
- Creator: affiliate management, attribution, and payouts that make Modash the easiest way for brands to pay creators.
The problems we work on will change. The need for strong sense of ownership will not.
You will be expected to:
- Turn customer pain into product decisions. Understand what users are trying to do, where they get stuck, and what the simplest useful solution looks like.
- Own work from problem to production. Shape the approach, build the solution, ship it, measure what happens, and improve it based on feedback.
- Work across the stack and make tradeoffs clearly. Move between frontend, backend, infrastructure, data modeling, debugging, and handling product decisions depending on what the problem needs.
- Raise the quality of decisions around you. Ask better questions, challenge weak assumptions, give useful feedback, and help the team keep momentum without waiting for perfect certainty.
Requirements
You’ll do well here if...
The best Senior Product Engineers here don’t wait for perfect context. They get close to the customer, make sharp tradeoffs, ship reliable systems, and stay accountable after launch.
- You have built and operated production systems that real users depend on.
- You have enough backend depth to design, build, and debug production services, APIs, data models, async work, and integrations. In practice, that usually means at least a couple of years of hands-on backend work.
- You care about product outcomes, not just technical elegance.
- You can learn whatever the problem requires, from frontend patterns to infrastructure, product domains, or AI-assisted workflows.
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and can create clarity for yourself and others.
- You work well with product designers and care about the quality of the customer experience.
You probably won’t enjoy this role if...
- You want a narrow frontend-only or backend-only lane. Here you own the stack end-to-end.
- You prefer detailed specs handed to you before you start working.
- You want the manager to decide your every next step.
- You want product managers and designers to define all the solutions before you get involved.
- You care more about technical elegance than customer outcomes.
Bonus points if...
- You have worked with Vue, Node.js, TypeScript, AWS, MongoDB, or ClickHouse.
- You have worked on technically deep product surfaces: complex workflows, integrations, data-heavy systems, automation, or customer-facing infrastructure.
- You have used AI/LLM tools to prototype faster, debug better, or raise the quality of your work.
- You have experience in the creator economy, marketplaces, e-commerce, or marketing tools.
How we work
- Say the thing clearly and early, especially when it is uncomfortable.
- Take ownership without waiting for permission or perfect context (seriously!).
- Give feedback that helps the work get better, not feedback that protects egos.
- Move fast, but leave people and systems in a better state than you found them.
- Care more about doing excellent work than looking senior.
Our tech stack
Modash is a data-heavy product with customer-facing workflows, search, integrations, reporting, and automation. You do not need deep experience with every tool, but you should be comfortable learning across the stack.
- Infrastructure: AWS, including ECS, Lambda, S3, CloudFront, SQS, EventBridge, Step Functions, and Pulumi
- Persistence and analytics: MongoDB, ClickHouse
- Backend: Node.js, TypeScript
- Frontend: Vue.js 3, TanStack, Pinia
- Tooling: Cursor, GitHub, Linear, Notion, and Slack
