Role Overview:

We’re looking for a hands-on technical leader to lead our mission-critical McAfee ecommerce transaction systems, including Checkout and Retail Redemptions platforms that power global revenue. This leader will own the architecture, scalability, reliability, and modernization of systems built on front end technologies like react and Vue.js and Node.js (TypeScript)-based microservices.

This role is not a people management role and requires a hands-on technology leader who can dive deep into architecture and code when needed, leverage AI-powered engineering tools to improve team productivity, and use data to drive decision-making and revenue impact

This position is for candidates who are in Bangalore, India only. You will be required to be in office on need basis, typically 3-4 days per month. We are only considering candidates within a commutable distance to this location and are not offering relocation assistance at this time.About the role

  • You will take ownership of the end-to-end architecture for checkout and retail redemption platforms.
  • You will lead front-end engineering initiatives using React and Vue.js to deliver scalable, high-quality user experiences.
  • You will drive backend architecture and scalability through Node.js (TypeScript)–based microservices.
  • You will advocate for modern engineering best practices, including CI/CD, observability, resilience, and API-first design.
  • You will integrate AI tools such as Copilot and LLM-based assistants into development workflows to boost productivity.
  • You will enhance engineering efficiency through AI-enabled code reviews, automated testing, documentation, and incident analysis.
  • You will leverage data insights, KPIs, and experimentation to identify bottlenecks, improve performance, and drive revenue outcomes.
  • You will lead and mentor distributed engineering teams, fostering a culture of ownership while aligning technical roadmaps with business goals.

About You:

  • You should have over 18 years of experience in software engineering, including more than 8 years in engineering leadership roles.
  • You should have an experience in building and scaling transactional or eCommerce systems.
  • You should be an expert with hands-on development in React.js, Vue.js, and Node.js using TypeScript.
  • You should be well-versed in microservices architecture and building scalable, distributed systems.
  • You should possess strong knowledge of API design, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native development practices.
  • You should have experience optimizing performance, ensuring observability, and working with secure, compliant transaction flows.
  • You should actively leverage AI tools and understand how LLMs and generative AI can enhance engineering productivity and workflows.
  • You should be able to combine strong business acumen with leadership skills, effectively influencing stakeholders, analyzing metrics, and leading globally distributed teams.
