Front-End Developer

THE POSITION

Our dev team operates within a larger agency environment. We frequently build new projects and maintain larger long-term applications for both our clients and ourselves. 

We primarily use Laravel and VueJS, and we experiment with new technology, incorporating such things as Tailwind, Lottie & Rive, Vuetify, Bootstrap, Machine Learning & LLMs, all the goodies AWS provides, and deploying our applications as native apps via Electron, Cordova, & Ionic.

Our ideal candidate is comfortable working in a small team, attentive and self-sufficient, but also communicative and cooperative. You’ll work in concert with our full-stack and back-end developers, our designers, our internal stakeholders, and our clients. 

Although this is not a designer role, UI design acumen is appreciated, especially by Thomas, who is very judgey about that sort of thing. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Take Figma designs and written specifications and implement them in new UIs, working primarily in Vue within the Laravel environment

• Work with back-end developers to organize the flow of data and the division of application logic between the front and back-end

• Revise front-ends for existing applications, working in the front-end stack for those existing applications

• Create short, interactive digital experiences for use within our event ecosystem

• Present user interfaces to both client and internal stakeholders

• Own the user experience of the software after launch, looking for gaps and opportunities for improvement

• Implement accessibility improvements within existing and new UIs
  

REQUIREMENTS 

• Minimum of 3 years Front-End development experience 

• A portfolio of professional Front-End development work for both desktop and mobile web 

• Expert knowledge of building and maintaining application front-ends with VueJS, HTML, CSS/SCSS/SASS, and JS

• Expert ability to turn Figma files into pretty, user-friendly, accessible, responsive browser-based UIs

• A talent for executing on spoken and written spec & feedback from a variety of sources - designers, soulless back-end devs, and even complete luddites 

• An understanding of UX best practices, and the ability to advocate for them diplomatically in conversations with the team and with clients
  

NICE-TO-HAVES

A functional familiarity with any of the following would be awesome:

COMPENSATION

The Front-End Developer position is a remote or hybrid in-person position. Commensurate with experience, Livetech offers a competitive pay range of $80 - 110K with bonus potential and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401K match, life insurance and disability income protection, plus 26 paid days off per year.
