Engineering Manager

Hi Rasmus
Job description

👋 Welcome to Hi Rasmus!

At Hi Rasmus, people are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you're just joining us or have been part of our journey, we’re excited to have you on board!

We’re on a mission to make evidence-based autism care accessible to families everywhere. 🌍 Families shouldn’t have to uproot their lives to access support—that’s why we break down barriers while keeping the human touch at the center of our work. Our goal? To positively impact the lives of 1 million children with autism.

Rooted in a culture that values trust, collaboration, and balance, we foster a workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered.

🎯 Our Core Values

🔹 Innovation 🧠 – We embrace creativity and seek better solutions.
🔹 Integrity ⚖️ – Honesty and trust guide everything we do.
🔹 Collaboration 🤝 – Together, we achieve more.
🔹 Growth 🌱 – We’re committed to personal and professional development.
🔹 Empathy ❤️ – We prioritize understanding and human connection.

🚀 What It’s Like to Work Here

🧩 Collaborative ownership – We believe the best ideas can come from anywhere. While we have a flat structure, you’ll have regular access to your manager and plenty of team support, we just skip the bureaucracy.

Sustainable pace – We aim for momentum, not burnout. We deliver continuously, but value thoughtfulness over rushing.

🌱 Grow while doing good – You'll have opportunities to expand your skills while contributing to a platform that changes lives.

🧠 About the Hi Rasmus Application

The Hi Rasmus platform is a large-scale, always-on application that serves thousands of users globally, many relying on it for hours daily. It's built as a cross-platform PWA and deployed across web and major app stores.

Our tech stack includes:

  • Frontend: Vue 3, Quasar
  • Backend: Node.js (TypeScript)
  • Infrastructure: Firebase, GCP
  • Tooling: GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines

We push weekly releases and are early adopters of AI, in our product and our development workflows.

🙌 About the Role

💼 Job Title: Engineering Manager

🤗 Reports to: CTO

📍 Location: Denmark (Copenhagen area preferred) - at this time, we are only accepting candidates in Denmark
⏳ Job Type: Full-time

We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager to help lead our growing engineering team. This role is ideal for someone who still enjoys writing production code, but is also energized by mentoring others and shaping team practices.

This is not a pure management role. You’ll balance coding, collaboration, and coaching, likely spending ~30–40% of your time contributing directly to the codebase.

You’ll work closely with the CTO (who also still codes), and you’ll partner with leads across Product, Design, and Delivery.

📌What You’ll Do

✅ Support and mentor our growing cross-functional teams of Software, QA, DevOps, and Data Engineers, together with the team leads, while fostering a culture of quality, kindness, and ownership.
✅ Contribute directly to code across the stack, especially in critical or complex areas
✅ Drive architectural decisions and participate in technical design reviews
✅ Champion engineering best practices (CI/CD, testing, documentation, etc.)
✅ Collaborate with product and design to scope and deliver features
✅ Help shape team processes that balance autonomy and accountability

🎯What You Bring

✨ Deep experience as a software engineer working on complex web applications
✨ Proficiency with modern JavaScript/TypeScript, ideally with experience in our stack (Node.js, Vue, Firebase)
✨ Experience mentoring or managing other engineers in a high-trust environment
✨ Strong technical judgment and an ability to simplify complexity
✨ A mindset of continuous learning, team-first thinking, and mission alignment

💙 Perks & Benefits You'll Love

🎓 Growth & Development:

  • Professional development opportunities
  • Room for growth within the company

🏡 Work Style That Works for You:

  • Fully remote and flexible work environment—work from wherever feels right!
  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Autism healthcare space
