Join our team at Carelancer. Carelancer is a growing startup with a live product and real user traction. We are looking for a Front-End Developer with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience building and scaling production-level applications. This is a role for a developer who wants to play a key role in shaping and delivering the next phases of our product.

You'll collaborate directly with our Product Manager and a small engineering team, taking direct ownership of front-end architecture, technical decisions, and core components across our platform. In this role, you won't just maintain existing features; you'll identify gaps, propose solutions, and establish the front-end best practices that will support our future team as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Active Development: Design, develop, and maintain high-quality web applications (SPA & PWA) using Vue.js (Vue 3).
  • Architecture: Lead improvements and bring structure to a fast-moving product.
  • Optimization: Optimize for speed, performance, and scalability across various devices and browsers.
  • Integration: Carry out front-end and back-end integration (REST API) and manage client-side storage.
  • Collaboration: Translate Figma wireframes and prototypes into interactive web interfaces.
  • Mobile Execution: Use Quasar and Capacitor/Cordova to build, convert, and maintain mobile versions of our applications across iOS and Android.

AI & Technical Leadership

  • AI integration ownership: Lead the evaluation and adoption of AI tools across our front-end stack, from development workflows to product features that directly serve our users.
  • Hands-on AI experience: Apply practical experience with LLMs, AI-assisted development, or intelligent workflow automation to real product problems, not just experiments.
  • Technical direction: Help define where and how AI fits into our platform. You will have a direct say in what we build, not just how we build it.
  • Team standard-setting: Establish AI and front-end best practices that scale with us as the team grows. The patterns you set today will shape how the next engineers onboard.

We use AI tools in our day-to-day work and are actively building toward deeper integration across our product and operations. This role will have real influence in shaping that direction.

Requirements (Must Have)

  • Hands-on Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience building and deploying production-ready Vue.js applications (Vue 3).
  • Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS, jQuery, and TailwindCSS.
  • Logic & State: Deep, practical understanding of Vue state management and Vue Routers.
  • Security: Experience integrating RESTful APIs with authentication, authorization, and content security.
  • Tools: Proficiency with Git for version control and JIRA for project management.
  • Quality Control: Proven ability to debug and write unit tests for production environments.
  • Mobile: Hands-on experience building and maintaining mobile applications using Quasar and Capacitor/Cordova, including deployment to iOS and Android platforms.
  • AI in production: Demonstrated experience using AI tools (e.g. GitHub Copilot, Claude, LLM APIs) in a shipped product or workflow, not just personal projects.
  • Leadership mindset: Proven ability to drive technical decisions, set direction for peers, and take ownership of outcomes without waiting to be told what to do next.
  • Comfort with ambiguity: Experience making sound technical calls in fast-moving environments where the right answer isn't always clear up front.

Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with Laravel (PHP Framework).
  • Experience with Docker and containerization.
  • Knowledge of HATEOAS and experience deploying to Google Play/Apple App Stores.
  • Experience with large-scale front-end migrations or refactors (e.g. Vue 2 → Vue 3 or framework transitions).

Benefits & Work Details

  • Job Type: Full-time.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday.
  • Location: 100% Remote.
  • Compensation: Competitive salary based on your hands-on experience level.
  • Benefits: Extended health care, Life insurance, EAP, and limited RRSP match.
  • Environment: Fast-paced startup — you'll wear multiple hats and have real influence from day one.
