We are looking for a Front-End Web Developer who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming. Responsibilities will include conception of UI/UX design with product owners and creating actual code that will produce visual elements and UI functionality of the application. You will work with the product owners collaboratively to derive graphical design and co-operatively with back-end developers on technical implementation.

Responsibilities

• Develop new user-facing features
• Improve existing user interfaces for improved user friendliness and mobile accessibility
• Build reusable code and libraries for future use
• Optimize application for maximum speed and lowest response time
• Assure that all user input is validated and useful and non-obtrusive feedback is returned to user
• Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

Skills And Qualifications

• Expert understanding of Vue.js and familiarity with Vuex.
• Strong aesthetic sense for delightful user experiences.
• Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
• Basic understanding of webpack.
• Good understanding of asynchronous request handling and Promises.
• Proficient in dealing with non-standard web APIs and architecting front-end data models based on APIs.
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image.
• Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
• Basic understanding of git.
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them.

Compensation and Scope of Work

• This is a contract position
• 30-40 hours per week
• Approximately 3 months of initial work with the possibility of year-long extension or full-time employment
• Starting at $50+ per hour depending on experience
• Portfolio and code samples strongly encouraged
