Company Description

The Fabrication Lab is looking to recruit a web/software developer. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team of developers, technologists, academics, and researchers.

Job Description

We are looking for someone to expand the team, with excellent skills and knowledge in front-end web development and web design, and an interest in working in a design and built environment focused Lab. You have experience in working with the Vue.js ecosystem (Vuex, Quasar) and a good understanding of modern web design principles. In addition, good knowledge of version-control software like Git is mandatory.

As a member of our software and web development team you will be responsible for designing prototypes and implementing the front-end of new web platforms. Our web projects stretch from innovative and specialized learning platforms to web interfaces for experimental robotic systems. You will have a great impact on how our users will interact with the Lab and its equipment and we encourage a creative approach and your initiative to create a new and engaging web experience.

Experience with back-end technologies (Node.js, PHP) and Content Management Systems (Wordpress) as well as working with cloud computing services (AWS) is a plus.

Ideally you are interested in working in a cutting-edge design and fabrication environment with the latest machine tools and digital fabrication technologies including multiple 3D printers, laser cutters, CNC routers, and robots.

Candidates must have a “can-do-attitude” to the work as well as good inter-personal skills. We are looking for staff with a creative approach to innovative and experimental work, and a desire to keep developing in this rapidly expanding area.
